MYSPACE co-founders CHRIS DEWOLFE and TOM ANDERSON have 243,738,669 friends on the social networking giant, and seemingly almost as many rumored CEO candidates for MYSPACE MUSIC, their new digital-music joint venture with the major labels, writes TODAY's NEW YORK POST.
With the service currently expected to launch later this month, MYSPACE and its partners are still on the hunt for an executive for the top slot, sources close to the matter said.
The most recent possible candidate to emerge is ANDY SCHUON, former head of programming of MTV, MTV2, VH1, former Pres./Programming of INFINITY BROADCASTING and former CEO of PRESPLAY.COM, a UNIVERSAL and SONY-owned precursor of what is now NAPSTER.COM.
SCHUON is the co-head of "C" STUDENT ENTERTAINMENT, a boutique radio and mobile media company syndicating broadcast content from gossip and music blogger PEREZ HILTON.
Ex-YAHOO MUSIC chief IAN RODGERS, MTV digital music guru COURTNEY HOLT, former MTV executive JOHN SYKES, and former AOL exec JIM BANKOFF have previously surfaced as potentials in the screening process, sources said.
