WZNE Hires Nik Rivers As PD

Back To Work For Nik Rivers

STEPHENS MEDIA Alternative WZNE (94.1 THE ZONE)/ROCHESTER, NY hires NIK RIVERS as its new PD, beginning SEPTEMBER 29th. RIVERS had recently exited the PD post at ALBANY BROADCASTING Active Rock WZMR (104.9 THE EDGE)/ALBANY, NY due to budget cuts. Interim PD TERESE TAYLOR stays in-house to handle AC WARM and Adult Hits WFKL (FICKLE 93.3), and to oversee operations at THE ZONE.

TAYLOR noted, "I knew it was time to get some professional help when WARNER BROS. was working me on METALLICA and FAITH HILL ... on the same call. NIK is an amazing PD who comes to us with an intrinsic knowledge of the Alternative format. And since we both went to ITHACA, I’m looking forward to talking BOMBERS football again."

RIVERS told ALL ACCESS, "I'm stoked to be heading to THE ZONE. It's great to be able to stay home in the NORTHEAST, and to be able to go to such a great station.
