A liberal group opposed to CITADEL Talk KKOH-A/RENO's participation in the "Hold Their Feet to the Fire" anti-illegal immigration event in WASHINGTON held a protest WEDNESDAY at the station's studio building, reports the RENO GAZETTE JOURNAL.
About 10 members of the "PROGRESSIVE LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE OF NEVADA" sent 10 bars of soap and a brush to KOH management, complaining about afternoon host BILL MANDERS' participation in the WASHINGTON radio row event this week. Protest organizer BOB FULKERSON said that the station was "consorting with and collaborating with" a "racist hate" group that he called "anti-Semitic." The group in question, event sponsor FEDERATION FOR AMERICAN IMMIGRATION REFORM, has several Jewish members.
PD DAN MASON told the paper, "Apparently if you're in favor of the law being followed, if you're in favor of legal immigration, you are now a member of a hate group. I guess that's what we are." The ten protesters were met by two counterprotestors; MANDERS continues with the WASHINGTON broadcasts TODAY (9/11).
