TALK RADIO NETWORK's LAURA INGRAHAM is being dropped by SALEM stations nationwide, reports the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES' ROBERT FEDER, who says that Talk WIND-A/CHICAGO is one of 17 SALEM stations dropping the show. INGRAHAM will be replaced by SALEM's MIKE GALLAGHER on the SALEM stations, a major upgrade and rollout for the veteran host.
As previously reported, INGRAHAM's show is exiting SALEM's KRLA-A/LOS ANGELES and landed at MOUNT WILSON FM BROADCASTERS Talk KGIL-A/LOS ANGELES as a replacement affiliate; KGIL simulcast partner XESURF-A/TIJUANA-SAN DIEGO is also adding the show, replacing SALEM's KCBQ-A as that market's affiliate. At KGIL, INGRAHAM's arrival bumps PREMIERE's GLENN BECK to 11a-1p, and local host MICHAEL JACKSON exits, with Dr. DREW PINSKY's show moving to 3-4p.
TALK RADIO NETWORK has announced some more new affiliates for INGRAHAM in the affected markets, including JW BROADCASTING Talk WCFO-A/ATLANTA; EMBEE BROADCASTING Talk KXAM-A (INDEPENDENT 1310)/PHOENIX; GENESIS COMMUNICATIONS Talk WWBA-A/TAMPA; CRAWFORD Contemporary Christian KLZ-A (560KLZ, THE LIGHT)/DENVER; GENESIS COMMUNICATIONS Talk WAMT-A/ORLANDO; NEW ALBANY BROADCASTING Talk WNDA-A/LOUISVILLE; CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KHBZ-A/HONOLULU; and NOALMARK's KPZA-A/HOT SPRINGS, AR. Additional affiliates in SEATTLE, MINNEAPOLIS, SACRAMENTO, COLORADO SPRINGS, CLEVELAND, SAN ANTONIO, and PORTLAND will be announced next week, and TRN says more affiliates are in the works.
