Opry Star Charlie Walker Passes

ALL ACCESS sends out prayers and condolences to the family of GRAND OLE OPRY star CHARLIE WALKER, who passed away this morning (9/12) in HENDERSONVILLE, TN at the age of 81. He had recently been diagnosed with colon cancer.
WALKER was a well-known radio personality in SAN ANTONIO back in the 1950s and was inducted into the COUNTRY MUSIC DISC JOCKEY HALL OF FAME in 1981. He is also known for having Country hits like "Tell Her Lies And Feed Her Candy," "Only You, Only You" and "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down."
OPRY VP/GM PETE FISHER said: “The GRAND OLE OPRY family will miss our friend and OPRY member, CHARLIE WALKER. We are truly grateful for all of the musical moments he has shared with us on the OPRY stage and over the airwaves as a disc jockey. We will dedicate this weekend’s OPRY shows to his memory.”
