Former WGN APD Kenton Morris Killed In Plane Crash

Authorities have identified the pilot of a chartered plane who died in a WISCONSIN crash last week with his two passengers as former CHICAGO radio executive KENTON MORRIS, who lived in BATAVIA.
The 61-year-old MORRIS had recently become a commercial pilot and his family said he was filling in for a friend when took off in the plane with two MILWAUKEE men on THURSDAY.
The single engine plane crashed at LAKELAND AIRPORT in ARBOR VITAE, WI, killing all three aboard.
MORRIS was a longtime employee of WGN/CHICAGO, where he worked as APD, and later became manager of the WGN-sponsored CHICAGO FLOWER AND GARDEN SHOW AT NAVY PIER, which he ran from 1995 until it closed in 2006.
