New owner STEVE PENK has hired a familiar voice to handle mornings on his newly-acquired, now-AC 96.2 THE REVOLUTION/OLDHAM, ENGLAND: himself. The GUARDIAN reports that PENK, the veteran host from CAPITAL RADIO, VIRGIN RADIO and KEY 103/MANCHESTER, recently bought the station from UKRD and the OLDHAM EVENING CHRONICLE and is installing himself as morning host, replacing MARTIN COOGAN, the brother of actor/comedian STEVE COOGAN. Former KEY 103 and BBC RADIO 1 host GARY KING will handle middays and former KEY 103 host JAMES H. REEVE takes the afternoon sports show slot.
96.2 THE REVOLUTION flipped from an eclectic, indie-rock-heavy Alternative to AC upon PENK's purchase of the station.
