The ASSOCIATED PRESS is reporting that PINK FLOYD member RICHARD WRIGHT died MONDAY after a battle with cancer. He died at his home in BRITAIN at the age of 65.
WRIGHT met ROGER WATERS and NICK MASON at college and joined their early group SIGMA 6, which evolved into the legendary band. He wrote and sang some of the band's signature songs, including "The Great Gig In The Sky" and "Us And Them" from the classic 1973 album, "THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON." WRIGHT left PINK FLOYD in the early 1980s to form his own band, but rejoined the group for the 1987 album "A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON."
