In the wake of the train crash that cost numerous lives in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, ABC7, CITADEL News-Talk KABC-A, Classic Rock KLOS, Mayor ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA and the AMERICAN RED CROSS join forces to support the patients and the victims of the next disaster and are organizing blood drives throughout SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th. Residents are urged to call the AMERICAN RED CROSS at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to schedule an appointment to donate blood on SEPTEMBER 17th or in the coming weeks.
"THE AMERICAN RED CROSS shipped hundreds of pints of blood to area hospitals after FRIDAY’s Metrolink train crash, at a time when blood supplies were short," said CLIFFORD NUMARK, Dir./Donor Recruitment for AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD SERVICES, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION. "Since the accident, many pints have been donated, but more is needed to help SOUTHERN CALIFORNIANS."
