Norman Whitfield Passes

Norman Whitfield

One of the best-known and most accomplished record writer/producers, NORMAN WHITFIELD, has passed. WHITFIELD was responsible for the songs and careers of many of the MOTOWN artists whose lives he touched including, MARVIN GAYE, THE TEMPTATIONS, THE UNDISPUTED TRUTH, and KIM WESTON.

WHITFIELD was also the writer/producer of the CAR WASH soundtrack album that spawned many hit singles for ROSE ROYCE. WHITFIELD finally succumbed to diabetes following an extensive battle. He was 65. Our condolences go out to his family and many friends.
