Artists from JOAN BAEZ to JASON and the SCORCHERS were at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM last night (09/18) for the AMERICANA MUSIC ASSOCIATION HONORS and AWARDS, as Americana showed that it is a melting pot of roots music from Gospel to Country to Bluegrass to Rock.
ROBERT PLANT and ALISON KRAUSS won the coveted ‘Album of the Year,’ award for their critically acclaimed project, “Raising Sand.” Meanwhile, NASHVILLE’s most successful band, outside of the Country world, JASON and The SCORCHERS won a Lifetime Achievement/Performance Award- when JASON RINGENBERG accepted the award he praised, "The founding fathers of Americana, JERRY LEE LEWIS and The RAMONES."
