Rowland Wants Out Of KREF Deal

The OKLAHOMAN is reporting that FOX BROADCASTING CO. Sports KREF-A (THE REF)/NORMAN-OKLAHOMA CITY morning host TOBY ROWLAND is complaining that the station would not let him out of the last year of his contract so he can join the NBA's OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER as TV sideline reporter. 

ROWLAND, who also serves as a sports anchor at CBS affiliate KWTV (TV), told the paper's MEL BRACHT, "I'm crushed. It would have been a dream to get to work for an NBA team, especially one here in my hometown. The THUNDER seems to be a first-class operation and CLAY BENNETT -— a guy who I've had some dealings with —- has always been great. It would have been a dream to get to work in that situation."

ROWLAND's attorney JIM PRIEST told BRACHT that ROWLAND may sue KREF to get out of the contract.
