ARBITRON has sent ARBITRON RADIO ADVISORY COUNCIL (ARAC) eligibility certification forms to its radio station clients. This is the first step in the election process for three format/market-size representatives whose three-year terms begin JANUARY 1st, 2009. The seats up for election are:
* Markets 1-50
* Condensed Markets
* Black/Urban FormatsARBITRON subscribers who hold the title of GM or higher, and are involved in the daily operation of a station or group which meet the criteria in terms of format and/or market size, are eligible to run. Radio executives who qualify and are interested in standing for election should return a completed Certification Form to ERNST & YOUNG LLP by SEPTEMBER 30th, 2008. All qualifying names will be placed on the election ballot, which will be sent to client radio stations in the three categories in early OCTOBER.
Radio station executives who work for CLEAR CHANNEL, CBS, COX, ENTERCOM and CITADEL are not eligible to run for elected ARAC seats, as these groups each have an appointed representative on the Council.
