CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO has appointed BILL CAHILL PD for Classic Hits WBIG (BIG 100.3) and AC WASH/WASHINGTON, D.C. The 25-year radio vet has held programming posts since 1984 and most recently was PD of WTVR & OM for the CLEAR CHANNEL/RICHMOND, VA cluster. He officially starts in OCTOBER.
"We're excited to have BILL join us as the PD of BIG 100.3 and WASH-FM," WASHINGTON-BALTIMORE Trade Area OM THEA MITCHEM said. "As we move forward in the new world of PPM, BILL’s experience consulting other CLEAR CHANNEL properties around the nation will prove invaluable."
"Leaving my friends and co-workers in CC/RICHMOND after nine successful years was a tough decision," CAHILL said. "WBIG and WASH are two fantastic heritage stations that will thrive in the PPM world, and I get to lead that charge with superior on-air talent already doing a great job."
"BILL is the final critical addition to our exceptional team of programmers at CCDC," CLEAR CHANNEL WASHINGTON DC & BALTIMORE Pres./Market Manager HARTLEY ADKINS said. "His unique experience working with Classic Hits and Adult formats makes him the perfect person to lead the veteran staff at WASH-FM and WBIG. I'm confident we'll see an immediate impact on our already thriving stations with his expertise."
