INTERSCOPE GEFFEN A&M has promoted Pres./International Operations and CHERRYTREE RECORDS honcho MARTIN KIERSZENBAUM to Pres./Pop & Rock A&R for INTERSCOPE RECORDS. He will now oversee the label's pop and rock roster and A&R staff.
KIERSZENBAUM launched CHERRYTREE with the release of Canadian singer-songwriter FEIST's acclaimed album, "Let It Die." Prior to establishing CHERRYTREE, he signed the Russian duo T.A.T.U. and British group KEANE to INTERSCOPE.
"MARTIN is a one-man record label, unstoppable, and he brings a global musical and business sense to the job," I/G/A Chairman JIMMY IOVINE stated. "If he's not on a plane, he's in the studio. Or directing a video. Or writing a song, doing a showcase in his office, or playing onstage with STING. He's unstoppable, and he brings a global musical and business sense to the job."
"I'm grateful to JIMMY IOVINE," KIERSZENBAUM said, "and I'm excited to take on this new role at INTERSCOPE where I've had the privilege to work with cream-of-the-crop acts as well as the opportunity to develop CHERRYTREE RECORDS as a comfortable and dynamic environment for trend-setting artists."
