AMERICAN GENERAL MEDIA Talk KERN-A/BAKERSFIELD host SCOTT COX has been indefinitely suspended for a prank involving the theft of campaign signs for a high school trustee candidate.
COX disclosed WEDNESDAY that he and his 17 year old son had stolen 15 signs promoting CHAD VEGAS for the KERN HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT and told the BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN that he intended to put the signs back up SATURDAY and claim he "negotiated release" of the signs, and "If they'd just given me 48 hours, this would have been awesome." The Sheriff's Department got involved in the investigation, leading to the confession and suspension.
"If I didn't expect it, I should have," COX, who did not tell the station about his prank beforehand, told the paper about the suspension. "Common sense would dictate they can't let people get away with crap like that."
