Hurricane Katrina Victim Gets Free Car After Losing WEND Contest

NISSAN OF STATEVILLE provided quite a happy ending for CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative WEND (1065 THE END)/CHARLOTTE's "LIVE IN IT TIL THE END" contest, which began on DECEMBER 27th with seven contestants entering a 2005 NISSAN X-TERRA. The contestants faced the typical daily challenges with the last survivor winning the vehicle.

One of the final contestants was KRYSTAL "BIG EASY" RIDGEWAY, a recent transplant from NEW ORLEANS living on FEMA with no transportation due to HURRICANE KATRINA.  KRYSTAL didn't quite win the contest, but the owners of NISSAN OF STATESVILLE gave her a free car anyway.

WEND PD JACK DANIEL had this to say about it, “NISSAN OF STATESVILLE has been highly involved with this contest from the beginning and for them to step up to the plate and give a vehicle to someone they know needs it is beyond anything we could have imagined.”
