Former ESPN Sports WEAE-A (1250 ESPN)/PITTSBURGH host MARK MADDEN has been released from his contract effective at the end of SEPTEMBER, enabling him to join crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative WXDX (105.9 THE X) for afternoons, reports the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE.
MADDEN was taken off the air at 1250 ESPN in MAY after comments about Sen. TED KENNEDY led to a controversy, but the station would not release him from his contract early to go to WXDX. The paper reports that MADDEN will most likely start with his new employer on OCTOBER 6th, filling the slot left vacant after the departure of afternoon drive host/Imaging Director TOM GRIMM.
