AMERICAN GENERAL MEDIA Talk KTRC-A/SANTA FE will be operated by HUTTON BROADCASTING under an agreement that includes a sale of the station later in 2008 or early 2009. HUTTON owns AAA KBAC (98.1 RADIO FREE SANTA FE), Rock KVSF (PROJECT 101.5), Sports KVSF-A, Jazz KLBU, and Country KQBA (OUTLAW COUNTRY) in the SANTA FE market. Liberal talker KTRC will retain its current format and lineup, which includes DIAL GLOBAL's STEPHANIE MILLER and AIR AMERICA RADIO's THOM HARTMANN, RON KUBY, and RACHEL MADDOW.
Managing Partner/GM SCOTT HUTTON said, "I am thrilled to be adding this diverse Talk radio format to the HUTTON radio family. In this politically charged and financially rocky economy, I feel SANTA FE wants this open radio forum to express ideas, views and opinions. We’ll be expanding the format at some point to include local talk radio shows discussing diverse subjects and issues that directly affect SANTA FEans and our community."
PD SCOTT MATTHEWS said, "I am incredibly excited to be a part of KTRC-A, a station which has served as a community voice for SANTA FE. I look forward to working with the SANTA FE community in expanding its voice."
