BAKERSFIELD's District Attorney has decided that he cannot charge AMERICAN GENERAL MEDIA Talk KERN-A/BAKERSFIELD host SCOTT COX with a crime because it cannot be proven that COX intended to steal a high school trustee's campaign signs permanently. COX was briefly suspended by KERN for taking campaign signs for KERN HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT trustee CHAD VEGAS in a prank gone wrong, but has since returned to the air.
District Attorney ED JAGELS announced the decision not to prosecute COX for the incident, prompting VEGAS to tell the BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN, "Bottom line, our district attorney is not as interested in justice as he is in public opinion. That is the most stupid line of logic."
