NASHVILLE's "Mother Church Of Country Music" was host to a special show last night (10/5) full of some of Country music's biggest talents. A private show for journalists in town to cover this week's (10/7) presidential debates at BELMONT UNIVERSITY was held at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM and featured BELMONT alumni JOSH TURNER, TRISHA YEARWOOD, BRAD PAISLEY, JULIE ROBERTS and special guest DARIUS RUCKER.
While the line-up was definitely hot, the biggest buzz started when CBS "Face The Nation" host BOB SCHIEFFER took the stage and sang. The veteran broadcaster is apparently a long time Country fan and no stranger to belting out his tunes behind the mic, albeit usually in upscale NEW YORK CITY establishments. SCHIEFFER fessed up to a big case of nerves and a feeling that he was in some sort of "parallel universe."
Read all about his big MUSIC CITY debut as well as the political leanings of PAISLEY, YEARWOOD and GARTH BROOKS in today's (10/6) TENNESSEAN.
