ARBITRON, continuing its defense against charges by minority broadcasters, released a series of analyses of the new SEPTEMBER PORTABLE PEOPLE METER radio ratings that highlight some of the successes of Urban and Spanish-language stations across the eight new PPM markets.
Much of the information was also found independently by RADIOCRUNCH and published by ALL ACCESS in the story proceeding this.
The highlights ARBITRON found include:
* NEW YORK: STEVE HARVEY on INNER CITY Urban WBLS ties for #1 among Persons 25-54 in AM Drive.
* CHICAGO: PIOLIN POR LA MAÑANA on UNIVISION Spanish WOJO is #1 among Persons 18-34 in AM Drive.* RIVERSIDE-SAN BERNARDINO: ENTRAVISION Spanish Adult Hits KLYY is #1 among Persons 25-54.
* SAN FRANCISCO: CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/Rhythmic KMEL is #1 with Persons 18-34.
ARBITRON claims in the release that African-Americans or Spanish-Dominant Hispanics have highest listening of all groups across new PORTABLE PEOPLE METER radio markets.
