GEORGIA TRIANGLE BROADCASTING has received FCC approval for its purchase of WJEP-A/OCHLOCKNEE, GA-TALLAHASSEE from LIFELINE MINISTRIES for $280,000. The purchase is in the name of DOREEN A. BLOOD, mother of CEO/PD/morning host WOODY NELSON, who tells ALL ACCESS his mom "needed a decent tax shelter" and that he plans to launch the station's new "Active Talk" format on NOVEMBER 1, with "a call letter flip that will blow your mind, AMERICA."
The previously-reported lineup includes NELSON in mornings ("THE BREWED AWAKENING"), WESTWOOD ONE's DENNIS MILLER and TOM LEYKIS, a locally-based show with VERONICA TYLER, and the syndicated JOHN AND JEFF SHOW. NELSON says that the station plans to add an FM signal as well.
