At 2p (CT) TODAY, ENTERCOM Rhythmic AC WSNA (SNAP 94.1) pulled the plug on the calls and format, becoming CLASSIC HITS 94.1 KQK-FM.
"The songs on KQK are part of the DNA and rich history of the Mid-South," said ENTERCOM/MEMPHIS VP/Market MGR. DAN BARRON. "This station offers listeners a significant choice of hits, artists and songs -- from AEROSMITH to ZZ TOP, with ELVIS to THE EAGLES in between. Only truly special entertainers who know and love the music can convey that feeling."
KQK welcomes STEVE CONLEY and KAREN PERRIN as hosts of the station’s new morning show, "CONLEY & KAREN." Both were last heard as hosts of the "RON, STEVE & KAREN" morning show on sister Hot AC WMC-F.
In reflecting on the new station, CONLEY noted, "Baby Boomers came of age to a huge lifetime soundtrack, very different from today’s narrow playlists, and their vast music tastes have been largely ignored and unfulfilled in MEMPHIS -- until now. This influential group’s consistent input and vision for a radio station designed exclusively for their generation led to the creation of CLASSIC HITS 94.1 KQK. KAREN and I look forward to providing them the unique listening experience they deserve."
