VP/Programming KEITH CLARK and the gang at CBS RADIO/PITTSBURGH have come up with a totally unique way to tie into the political season and market their stations. CLARK told ALL ACCESS, "We put the 'Political signs' (pictured left) up all over town. No logo ... just a website. We teased on air as well ... again, just this website. People go to the website and it directs them to the station's website to find out how to win."
To try it, for Hot AC WZPT (STAR 100.7), go to www.cash4votes.com. For Country WDSY (Y108 ), it's www.politicalpayroll.com.
"You go to the website and 'register' as a Democrat or Republican and give us your info, which builds our database," continued CLARK. "Then listen every hour 9-5 for your name to be called and you can win cash. If you registered as a Repub and MCCAIN wins -- Dem if OBAMA wins -- we'll draw from all entries for $1,000 cash on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5th," for STAR.
Over at WDSY, "Listen to Y108 from 9 to 5 and 'Work For Your Country!' Every hour 9-5 we hire a 'pollster' to keep track of the first five songs we play. The 18th caller who knows all five songs wins $108," said CLARK.
