The FCC is asking for public comment on proposals filed in the pending digital audio broadcasting proceeding that deal with a prospective power increase for FM IBOC HD RADIO signals.
A group of 18 broadcasters filing as "Joint Parties" asked the FCC to increase digital power from 1% to 10% of a station's analog power, and submitted iBIQUITY engineering material to support their contention that the boost would not create interference problems; NPR filed engineering research alleging that such an increase would cause interference to first- and second-adjacent channel analog stations.
