Attorney JACK THOMPSON's appeal of the license renewal for BEASLEY Sports WQAM-A/MIAMI has been rejected by the FCC. THOMPSON, who is fighting a FLORIDA SUPREME COURT order disbarring him from the FLORIDA BAR, complained that BEASLEY had improperly retaliated against THOMPSON for his filing of indecency complaints against WQAM, with which he has had a contentious relationship over the years. The Enforcement Bureau rejected THOMPSON's license challenge, and the Commission has upheld the bureau's decision.
The Commission also rejected an appeal by CHRISTIAN VOICE OF CENTRAL OHIO, INC. of a $9,000 fine for airing ads on then-noncommercial WCVZ/SOUTH ZANESVILLE, OH.
