BELMONT UNIVERSITY and The NASHVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE released a study yesterday (1/10) which shows the music industry has a $6.38 billion economic impact on the City of NASHVILLE. The study took into account direct spending by music industry firms in NASHVILLE, the combined impact of secondary spending and funds contributed due to music-related tourism. In addition, the study showed that NASHVILLE is clearly outpacing other music-related cities such as AUSTIN, TX, SEATTLE, WA and ATLANTA, GA.
The 2 1/2 year study was commissioned by the Chamber and its Music Associations Task Force and conducted by the JACK C. MASSEY GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS at BELMONT, proving that NASHVILLE, is truly "MUSIC CITY."
