The FRESNO BEE chronicled the troubles of PROACTIVE COMMUNICATIONS and its Top 40 Rhythmic KVPW (POWER 106)/FRESNO in FRIDAY's editions, reporting that JERRY CLIFTON's PROACTIVE has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization and has resumed control of KVPW from MACKNIFICENT BROADCASTING, which had been LMA'ing the station while working out a purchase of the facility.
CLIFTON's company, which took Top 40/Rhythmic KQQB (LIVE 104.5) and Classic Rock KAAZ/SPOKANE dark earlier this year, resumed operating KVPW on OCTOBER 1st, with Market Coordinator ED MONSON telling the BEE that MACKNIFICENT "did not pay their bills," a claim MACKNIFICENT's GREG MACK said was not true; MACK said that he "allowed JERRY to take the station back to work his way out of his own problems."
