MICHIGAN RADIO, the network of three NPR affiliates including WUOM/ANN ARBOR, WVGR/GRAND RAPIDS, and WFUM/FLINT, says that it generated over $770,000 in pledges during its FALL membership drive, which ran from OCTOBER 17-24. The take, a 16% increase over last year's drive, exceeded the drive's goal despite cutting the on-air portion of the campaign by 20%, including eliminating fundraising breaks in some programming altogether.
"Because we were able to achieve our goals in fewer hours, our hope is that we can continue this trend the next time around," said Director of Broadcasting STEVE SCHRAM. "We’re very gratified that particularly in these challenging economic times, our audience continues to value our service enough to support it with their dollars."
