METRO NETWORKS/ST. LOUIS Sports Anchor CHRIS GARDNER joins BONNEVILLE's upcoming new FM Sports station KMVN (SPORTS/TALK 101.1 FM)/ST. LOUIS as producer of RANDY KARRAKER's afternoon show. GARDNER, whose updates have been heard on crosstown BIG LEAGUE BROADCASTING Sports KFNS-A-F for the last year, previously produced CARDINALS baseball and "SPORTS OPEN LINE" at CBS Talk KMOX-A/ST. LOUIS.
GARDNER said, "I’m excited that SPORTS/TALK 101.1 FM and BONNEVILLE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION have given me the opportunity to be part of their new sports station from the get go; it’s really a landmark idea in the ST. LOUIS market." He added, "I’m really looking forward to working with RANDY KARRAKER. He’s the epitome of a professional broadcaster."
PD JASON BARRETT said, "During his career, CHRIS has demonstrated that he has a great work ethic, is very versatile, has a passion for ST. LOUIS sports and he can work with top-notch talent and get the best out of them. I’m very excited about having him on the team and pairing him with a great on-air talent like RANDY KARRAKER, as we begin to lay the groundwork for what will be one of the most informative and entertaining afternoon-drive Sports Talk radio programs in the ST. LOUIS metro area."
BONNEVILLE ST. LOUIS RADIO GROUP VP/Market Manager JOHN KIJOWSKI commented, "Hiring great producers is going to be vital to the success of SPORTS/TALK 101.1 ... in CHRIS, I know we have a great producer."
The new Sports format is set to debut JANUARY 1st; the station is stunting with CHRISTMAS music until then.
