ST. LOUIS POST DISPATCH sports columnist BRYAN BURWELL is joining BONNEVILLE's WMVN/ST. LOUIS for its flip to Sports on JANUARY 1st as SPORTS/TALK 101.1 for a yet-to-be-specified hosting slot. BURWELL, who has worked for USA TODAY, NEWSDAY, the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, the SPORTING NEWS, and the DETROIT NEWS will continue to write for the POST DISPATCH and contribute to crosstown FOX affiliate KTVI (TV) (FOX2)'s "RAMS GAMEDAY LIVE." He previously worked with PD JASON BARRETT when both were at crosstown BIG LEAGUE BROADCASTING Sports KFNS-A-F.
BURWELL said, "It’s hard to express how exciting it is to finally complete this deal. SPORTS/TALK 101.1 is a tremendous platform to relaunch my radio career. I know that by the time we go on the air in JANUARY, the station will be putting the final touches on a unique and intriguing lineup of local and national on-air talent and team rights broadcast packages that will make the new station the destination spot for ST. LOUIS sports on every sports listener’s radio dial."
PD JASON BARRETT added, "BRYAN BURWELL is someone who I really wanted on this team from the moment I took the PD post. His passion, knowledge, opinions and ability to inform and entertain fit perfectly into the type of sports radio station we’re trying to build. To have a second chance to work with him and do it right this time around is very satisfying. BRYAN is an award-winning and respected journalist and just the type of high-profile talent who gets your attention; to have him as one of our building blocks for the future of sports radio in ST. LOUIS is incredibly exciting."
