CMA And ABC Gear Up For Awards With A Few 'Firsts'

As the 42nd ANNUAL CMA AWARDS rapidly approaches, the CMA and ABC.com are offering fans more ways to get involved. "My Picks", available on FACEBOOK and www.CMAAWARDS.com, allows you to pick your favorite nominees in each of the six artist-specific categories. The voting has no bearing on the actual CMA AWARD winners, but results can be posted directly on your MYSPACE, FACEBOOK, personal website or blog and you can invite your friends to view your selections and pick their own favorites.

Another first for this year's awards will be the ABC.com hosted "Thank You Camera." The camera will be posted backstage at the awards and allows each winner to thank those that weren't acknowledged from the stage. ABC.com will also feature a live show blog to give fans an up to the minute look at the CMAs backstage happenings. 

Also for the first time ever, the CMA is producing a red carpet arrival special, "CMA AWARDS Red Carpet Live! Presented By CHEVY," hosted by MERCURY/NASHVILLE's JULIANNE HOUGH and BNA/NASHVILLE artist CRAIG MORGAN. The 30-minute special is available to all ABC-TV affiliates for the 7:30p (ET) time slot prior to the AWARDS.

The 42nd ANNUAL CMA AWARDS will broadcast live on ABC on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12th from NASHVILLE's SOMMET CENTER at 8p (ET).
