JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY Christian AC KLRC (101.1 THE POSITIVE DIFFERENCE)/SILOAM SPRINGS, AR is teaming up with ARVEST BANK for a "Pay It Forward" campaign in NORTHWEST ARKANSAS. The campaign began NOVEMBER 3rd and will encourage people to "pay it forward" through random acts of kindness. The station is asking listeners to visit www.klrc.com to submit ideas on how they would "pay forward" $101. Three listeners will be chosen randomly, one each on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7th, 14th and 21st, from the online submissions and given $101 to enact their "pay it forward" plan.
"'Pay it Forward' is about encouraging people to look for ways to go above and beyond their normal daily routine to do something kind for another person. Sometimes it may be paying for the car behind you in the drive-thru. Other times it's holding the door for a mom with her arms full. I hope that this turns into a huge movement of kindness," said KLRC PD/mornings MARK MICHAELS.
"This is about impacting the community one person at a time. If each of the nine people that we give the $101 paid it forward to three people, and each of those three to three more, after two weeks of continuing to pay it forward 4,782,969 people could be affected by kindness. It is exciting to see that our listeners know that through the encouragement of KLRC and ARVEST BANK, they can make a positive difference in the world around them."
