Former ABC "NIGHTLINE" host TED KOPPEL will join NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO as Senior News Analyst in JUNE, agreeing to appear about 50 times a year on NPR news programs. KOPPEL, who left "NIGHTLINE" in NOVEMBER after 42 years with ABC NEWS, will appear on "MORNING EDITION," "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED," and "DAY TO DAY," as well as on breaking news coverage and on the NPR web site.
KOPPEL will also be joining the NEW YORK TIMES as contributing columnist starting on JANUARY 29, appearing on the paper's op-ed page. And he announced last week that he will be producing and hosting shows for cable's DISCOVERY NETWORKS. He started his career at WMCA-A/NEW YORK before joining ABC RADIO NEWS in 1963.
