The JACKSONVILLE area gets a liberal talk station, at least on weekdays, as SEVEN BRIDGES RADIO flips Oldies WSJF (TRUE OLDIES 105.5 FM)/ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, FL to Talk 6a-6p weekdays. The FLORIDA TIMES-UNION reports that the station has retained the Oldies format for evenings, overnights, and weekends. Sister WJSJ/JACKSONVILLE retains its Sports format. The stations are operated by SEVEN BRIDGES under a time brokerage agreement with owner TAMA BROADCASTING, which recently went into receivership.
In addition, the paper reports that when FLAGLER COUNTY BROADCASTING completes its purchase of Gospel WROO (HALLELUJAH 92.7 FM)/GREEN COVE SPRINGS-JACKSONVILLE, FL from CLEAR CHANNEL's ALOHA TRUST, it plans to move the station out of the JACKSONVILLE market down to FLAGLER COUNTY and will flip the calls to WTPC ("Welcome to PALM COAST") and the format to an as-yet-undisclosed music format. FLAGLER COUNTY BROADCASTING owns Talk WNZF-A-W292DE/BUNNELL, FL in the PALM COAST area.
