A businessman who serves as a director at CITADEL BROADCASTING CORP. is admitting that he does not, as a proxy statement for another company claims, have an MBA degree from the UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA's WHARTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS.
THOMAS REIFENHEISER, who was credited with the degree in LAMAR ADVERTISING CO.'s proxy statement filed with the FCC, told the WALL STREET JOURNAL, "It was a very busy time for me, and I just never completed it," adding that he knew the statement was incorrect, but "I just didn't bother" to correct it. "It was immaterial as far as I was concerned, and it happened a long time ago," he said. The MBA claim was uncovered by convicted-fraudster-turned-fraud-investigator BARRY MINKOW.
REIFENHEISER sits on the boards of CITADEL, LAMAR, CABLEVISION SYSTEMS CORP. and MEDIACOM COMMUNICATIONS CORP.
