Colombian rock artist JUANES continued his dominance of the LATIN GRAMMYS at last night's Awards ceremony. The singer-songwriter from MEDELLIN took the honors in all five categories where he was nominated, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year. The haul took his total LATIN GRAMMYS to 17, breaking the previous record of 14, held by ALEJANDRO SANZ.
According to the AP, JUANES' j"Me Enamora," won Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Short Form Music Video. His "La Vida ... Es Un Ratico" album won Best Album, and Best Male Pop Vocal Album GRAMMYS. Argentine musician/composer GUSTAVO SANTAOLALLA won GRAMMYS for producing Juanes' record and album.
Other winners included Puerto Rican singer KANY GARCIA (Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Album), Mexican alternative rock group CAFE TACUBA (Rock Song and Alternative Song Of the Year, respectively), and GLORIA ESTEFAN (Person of the Year, Best Traditional Tropical Album and Best Tropical Song).
