CUMULUS SVP/Programming and Country KPLX (THE WOLF)/DALLAS PD JAN JEFFRIES will relocate from DALLAS to the CUMULUS headquarters in ATLANTA on NOVEMBER 24th. Current KPLX MD/afternooner MARK PHILLIPS will take over the PD reigns, in addition to his current duties.
JEFFRIES said: “13th to #1 in nine months in DALLAS is a testament of the gold standard of programming set by CUMULUS and our dedicated programming team at THE WOLF! Mission accomplished! Now, I look forward to returning to CUMULUS/ATLANTA headquarters. I will remain hands-on with daily communication and frequent trips to DALLAS to work with our programming team as we galvanize our #1 rank. I greatly appreciate the dedication and tenacity of our DALLAS air staff who embraced the complete retooling of THE WOLF nine months ago."
PHILLIPS added: "It's a dream come true to program the most listened to Country Radio Station in AMERICA and to work for CUMULUS who is totally committed to a great product. JAN JEFFRIES has put THE WOLF at the top of the pack and I intend to continue to run the game plan that we've developed. I appreciate the confidence that JAN and GM DAN BENNETT have shown in me and look forward to leading our team of incredibly talented on-air personalities.”
According to BENNETT, "JAN JEFFRIES has done a stellar job of designing a programming plan for THE WOLF in DALLAS that has shown phenomenal results in the early pre-currency results of PPM. He was brought here to get it fixed and did just that. The strategy is set and we will continue to build on it. Congratulations to MARK PHILLIPS in his new role as PD at THE WOLF!”
