Report: Jay Boberg To Launch Entertainment Venture

The L.A. TIMES reports that former MCA RECORDS Pres. JAY BOBERG is launching a LOS ANGELES-based firm, LIBERATION ENTERTAINMENT, with a library of films, television, and music footage (musicians cited as being among those represented included TOM PETTY and LOUIS ARMSTRONG). The library, which had previously been owned by LIBERTY INTERNATIONAL, was acquired by BOBERG with financing from private equity firm CLARITY PARTNERS. BOBERG has already reportedly struck a DVD distribution deal with GENIUS PRODUCTS.
