NOVEMBER 22nd marks the 45th anniversary of assassination of President JOHN F. KENNEDY in DALLAS. REELRADIO will be commemorate the tragedy in two-day streaming special that features over 18 hours of studio recordings from WBAP/FORT WORTH, including the last two speeches made by KENNEDY. Also featured are hours of real-time coverage and commentary from both ABC and NBC radio networks. MORGAN BEATTY and EDWIN NEWMAN are heard on NBC, and TED KOPPEL is heard on ABC -- both on WBAP, which shared frequencies with WFAA.
SATURDAY's (11/22) show includes KENNEDY's last two speeches, interviews with FORT WORTH citizens and much local flavor, news of the arrest of LEE HARVEY OSWALD and the reaction of the nation and the world through SATURDAY, NOV. 23rd, 1963.
SUNDAY's show begins with the shooting of LEE HARVEY OSWALD and a press conference to detail the charges against OSWALD (although he had already been shot) on SUNDAY, NOV. 24th, 1963. It is followed by a moving description of the funeral procession, Mass and burial of Pres. KENNEDY on MONDAY, NOV. 25th, 1963, and concludes with the transition to regular WBAP programming on NOV. 26th, 1963.
