The TRAFFIC DIRECTORS GUILD OF AMERICA's annual survey of traffic department salaries showed a 13.84% overall growth rate for 2005-06. Average salaries for traffic staffers rose from $36,201.52 to $41,212.50, with commercial stations paying $41,379.18 and public stations ip tp $34,354.84.
"We're interpreting most of the positive changes to a combination of Less Is More demands for closer Inventory Control; an unmistakable trend that is elevating Traffic to Department-level status and Management recognizing the dollar-and-cents value of an efficient, well-trained Traffic Staff," said TDGA CEO LARRY KEENE. "With EDI, Electronic Invoicing and Accountability all sharing the main stage with competitive pressures, Traffic is the funnel through which... all revenues flow. This is a profession, no more data-entry labels or clerk status for stations that face an incredible array of challenges. Follow the flow of revenues and there's no escaping traffic is the keystone."
