Mike Peer Exits KENZ

CITADEL AAA KENZ (101.9 THE END)/SALT LAKE CITY PD MIKE PEER exits TODAY (11/26), following a COLDPLAY auction and a shout-out from CHRIS MARTIN at concert. PEER was let go due to budget cuts, as we first reported earlier this month (NET NEWS, 11/4).

Needless to say, PEER was pretty stoked with the COLDPLAY farewell. He explains, "As my 'last big hurrah' in SLC, I auctioned off a piano lesson with CHRIS MARTIN ... We held the auction on-air, and the winning bid was $3,000 which went to a local charity, THE UTAH YOUTH VILLAGE, which is a foster home for abuse and neglected children in UTAH. Our winner gave the piano lesson to her 11-year-old daughter, who was starry-eyed the entire time. CHRIS actually gave me a shout-out from the stage that night, wishing me luck in finding my next gig."
