Condolences to family and friends of TERRE HAUTE radio and television pioneer HARRY FREY, who died SUNDAY a month before his 95th birthday.
FREY started in radio as a singer and announcer at WBOW-A/TERRE HAUTE and proceeded to serve several stints at local stations as an announcer, newsman, and sales. In 1962, he joined CBS affiliate WTHI-TV as anchorman of the station's newscasts and became a market mainstay for 20 years, retiring in AUGUST 1982. He later served as Administrative Asst. to the Mayor of TERRE HAUTE, PETE CHALOS, for 12 years before his 1994 retirement.
