Dixie Chicks Singer Named In Defamation Suit

TODAY's (12/04) TENNESSEAN is reporting that DIXIE CHICKS lead singer NATALIE MAINES is being sued for defamation, by the stepfather of one of three 8-year-old boys slain in WEST MEMPHIS.

The CHICKS' vocalist spoke out at a rally in LITTLE ROCK on DECEMBER, 19th last year, claiming that JASON BALDWIN, DAMIEN ECHOLS and JESSIE MISSKELLEY, known as the WEST MEMPHIS THREE, were innocent.

TERRY HOBBS, stepfather of STEVE BRANCH, who was killed, filed suit in PULASKI CIRCUIT COURT. The suit names all three members of the DIXIE CHICKS, but focuses on MAINES, identified by her married name, NATALIE PASDAR.
