CL KING & ASSOCIATES analyst JIM BOYLE becomes the latest media business analyst to exit his post. BOYLE e-mailed clients with the word that "As of this week, I am no longer an analyst at CL KING & ASSOCS. due to headcount reductions during these tough times and tough market circumstances. It is my plan to explore other Street or Industry situations, on both a full-time and/or consulting/project basis in the new year." BOYLE came to CL KING from ALEX BROWN, where he covered cable TV, and also worked at FIRST MANHATTAN, the CABLE TELEVISION ADVERTISING BUREAU, FINANCIAL NEWS NETWORK, and EASTMAN RADIO.
BOYLE has been known for his blunt assessments of the business, most recently writing, "The last time radio saw such a deep and discouraging falloff in revenue, THE LONE RANGER was wrapping up its radio run and EISENHOWER was president."
