Two months after being laid off by CITADEL Top 40 KZMG (MAGIC 93.1)/BOISE, former morning man DAN TOOKER's impact on the market is still being felt, as a local church honors TOOKER for his humanitarian efforts in 2008. The award cited TOOKER's compassion for his fellow man as well as his love for animals.
In his 10 months on the air at MAGIC, TOOKER raised $20,000 to build a playground for handicapped children; housed, clothed and raised money for ten families who lost their homes in a wild fire; sent 10,000 valentines overseas to people serving in the military; and held a rally to raise awareness for animal cruelty in the state of IDAHO while working side by side with a senator to get the animal cruelty law changed.
TOOKER thanked his former producers CASEY and MJ as well as his former station for giving him the platform to try and make a difference. "I chose this career because I want to make a difference in my community," said TOOKER. "I want people to feel good about listening to my station and show and I want to feel good about myself when I look in the mirror."
