BEASLEY Classic Rock WSFL-F/NEW BERN, NC has arranged for a listener to receive a new prosthetic leg, and he'll get it in time for CHRISTMAS.
The station received a request from ANDY MARTIN for a new leg as part of its "15 Days of CHRISTMAS" promotion. MARTIN, of WILLIAMSTON, NC, has an old, worn-out leg but no insurance coverahe to pay for a replacement (valued at $13,000). The station, along with sister Classic Rock WMGV (V103.3)/GREENVILLE, NC, arranged for HANGER PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS in GREENVILLE to make his wish come true.
HANGER prosthesist TRAVIS DESSOFY said, "It’s an amazing feeling to be able to help someone return to an active, independent lifestyle – especially around the holidays. We are very excited to work with Mr. MARTIN and appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this unique program by WSFL."
WSFL PD CINDY MILLER added, "I have chills just thinking about how it’s all come together for Andy... it’s times like this when I can forget about the business side of radio and just think about how awesome my job is!"
