Former SANTA MONICA COLLEGE noncommercial AAA-Talk KCRW/SANTA MONICA-LOS ANGELES MD and "MORNING BECOMES ECLECTIC" host NIC HARCOURT is joining the LOS ANGELES TIMES MAGAZINE (also known as LA) as Editor at Large, Music & Culture. HARCOURT will write a monthly column for the magazine starting FEBRUARY 9.
"LA has distinguished itself from other magazines with its highly personalized content that looks at the city of LOS ANGELES from a different perspective," said HARCOURT. "I look forward to working with the talented LA team and sharing my point of view with the LA readers."
"NIC's prolific background in music, television and film creates the perfect backdrop for LA to explore the remarkable culture that is the city of LOS ANGELES," said Editor in Chief ANNIE GILBAR. "Each month, NIC will contribute a culturally curated page that will introduce new music and personalities to our readers."
The magazine, recently revamped into a monthly, has created controversy because the newspaper took control of the editorial from the newsroom staff and handed it to the business side of the paper, a variation from the traditional separation of business and editorial in the newspaper business.
