CUMULUS AAA WQKL (ANN ARBOR'S 107one)/ANN ARBOR held its 20th annual "ROCKIN' FOR THE HUNGRY" event to collect food for the FOOD GATHERERS food bank, and this year's total -- 226 tons of food -- beat the goal of 170 tons by a wide margin. The station's staff and volunteers braved the cold for five days to collect the food.
"ROCKIN' FOR THE HUNGRY is one of the signature events in both the city of ANN ARBOR and on ANN ARBOR's 107one, and I am thrilled beyond belief that 226 tons of food were given to help the hungry in our community," said morning host MARTIN BANDYKE.
"Hats off to our listeners and everyone in the WASHTENAW area who contributed to this Rockin' cause. ANN ARBOR's 107one is privileged to be a part of such a vibrant and generous community," added PD CHRIS AMMEL.
